Been running Mark's 950 HP on my 427W for a couple of years now. Car always runs great once it's started, but starting it is the issue, even after it is up to full operating temperature. Always have to pump it once or twice to restart. I have never messed with the jetting or float levels, still set the same from when Mark did. Played with the mixture screws quite a bit (out 3.5 turns) but still no better. Always been apprehensive to mess with it since its not a gas carb.
I don't have a wide band, so I just go off of water temp. Just idling without the fan on, it will stay around 170-180. After I make a pass, I always have the fan going, but the temp could be around 195+, depending on the ambient temp. Returning to the pits, it will come back down to around 180-185. Again, depending on ambient temp. All that I have read, I don't see where main jetting could play a part on the hard start, but then I may be wrong.
Just a little frustrated because I will see other combos with E85, bust right off as soon as the key is touched.
I run NGK 7 plugs, timing locked at 36*, full MSD ignition. (dizzy, coil and 6A digital box)
Thanks for any help

After two years, I think it's time for a refresh and update.
$150 will get your carb rebuilt and taken to a fresh state, If there are any updates we will do them at this time as well. I will put it on an engine and tune it and as always, I pay return shipping.

I was having a stumble coming up on the convertor and building a little too much heat on the return road.
Had Mark freshen mine this winter, it's all good now! No stumble, and the darn thing will idle in LA traffic jams without getting too hot, lol
Mark, I noticed that you changed the metering blocks.
Whatever you changed worked well.
Car ran a 6.96 in the 1/8th, 11.10 and a 1.48 60' times at Topeka a couple of weekends ago. Previous best ever was a 7.05, 11.17 & 1.49! Too bad it was a 12 MPH head wind, or I might have been asked to leave as I didn't pass tech for faster than 11.0
